Hey Everyone,
The time has come for me to purchase my own multi meter. I just picked up a great, steady, LD gig and I'm going to need to make the investment. Ther are quite a few options out there and I'm not sure what to buy.
I'm looking to spend under $200, but I want one that will be reliable. A clamp would be nice, but not neccesary. Any suggestions?

Re: Multimeter Suggestions
Tue, April 10, 2007 - 10:47 AMThat's funny. My friend in the backstage tribe [ backstageartist.tribe.net/ ] said go get a fluke, which I wasn't going to do. They're very well reputed, but are also quite pricey. I wasn't going to get a radio shack version, for the opposite reason.
I researched a bunch of brands online, and talked to a co-worker on the subject. The advise I got was that your Fluke meter is great, but if i'm not a full time electrician, it may not be worth the money. He said he's had his Extech for about 5 years, with no complaints. I looked into it and bought this:

Wed, April 11, 2007 - 11:18 PMEven though I'd say just invest in a Fluke, if you are concerned about budget then take a look at a few models from Protek, Wavetek/Meterman or B&K Precision.
